So, I figure that everyone who is going to vote on our baby name poll has voted by now. Of our choices, the clear favorite was Abigail. We love that name (not least because of Abigail Adams), but we are somewhat concerned that the name has, of late, become rather too popular. We’ll keep thinking about it, though.
I think you need to make up a totally new name, that would be sweet, as long as it sounds cool, something like Arina(?) or Kiena(?) or something like that.

When I was asking people what I should name my baby they kept telling me that they liked Abby (seriously, like 5 people told me that). I think it’s a sign that you guys should use it. We’re going with Stacy. What do you think?
Stacy is a great! It’s not over used, but very cute.
“Abigail” is pretty popular right now, but I Googled the full name “Abigail Kotter”–no results. So that’s a good sign. Most of the time when you Google your own name you find at least a few other people floating around. (I work at the University of Iowa library, wrote a book about academies in Southern Sung China, and donated thousands of dollars to Obama’s campaign.) Actually, the first search result for “Abigail Kotter” was a page about Abigail Adams–whom you mentioned you like–that’s got to mean something, right?
