Let’s go back to mid December. Oliver ran into a bar during gym at school and stayed home a couple days with eight stitches. It was the day before Jason left town for four days. No one was really getting all the attention I wanted to give them, but they were really patient and good. Everyone (all 18 kids) of Oliver’s class made a get well note for him and I was truly impressed with how sincere and compassionate the notes were. The families and teachers/staff around us obviously really care about each other and I’m glad I live here.
I visited Oliver’s class to teach a little art lesson on making flip books. We drew snowflakes falling and looked at real photos of snowflakes. Then we sang “If all the snow flakes were candy bars and milkshakes oh what a snow it would be!” Of course we then drew a second flip book of candy bars and milkshakes falling from the sky into a person’s mouth.
Phoebe likes playing with the duplo legos in Abby’s room. The basement is too cold to just hang out there during the day.
It makes my heart (and my stomach) ache to see Oliver’s injury.
tell him I had stitches in my chin when I was just his age (and I have a little scar to prove it).
