It is great having chances to visit your blog. The pictures are great. We enjoy watching photos of Oliver and your family. It makes us feel like we were exploring the places you had visited together.
The name of this flower, I do not know if there were signs say “Lily” but from the photos, it is more like lotus to me. Especially the green center, should be the place to hold lotus seeds, which is delicious to be cooked as sweet dessert.
Please feel free to let me know if I am wrong.
Love,
Orris Lin
So, after reading your comment I researched the photo — it turns out that it was indeed a photo of a lotus flower. They didn’t have signs, but we assumed that all of the plants were water lilies. Seems silly in hindsight; after all of the pictures of lotus flowers I saw in Taiwan you would think I would recognize them!
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. If I ever get the chance, I’d like to try that lotus dessert!
Thank you for the pictures you took. They are great pictures! Personally, I like lotus very much! There is a big lotus pond in the botanical garden on Nan Hai Road which is not too far away from CKS memorial hall. If you got a chance to bring Kate and Oliver (and … more coming) over to Taipei, we can show you there. It is beautiful in summer. All lotus will be blossoming. It is the best season to have fresh lotus seeds in September. I definitely will cook you the lotus seeds desert when you and your family come to visit.
