Abby’s Blessing

Jason gave Abby her baby blessing March 29th and it was beautiful! We had family there too which made it extra special (thanks for making the trip guys!) Afterwards, she was tired (probably because she yelled through the whole thing- more on that later) so we took pictures a couple weeks later when she was happy and the cherry tree out back had bloomed. I love this tree and want to plant one like it in my own yard someday (6 or more years still from now), but I don’t think it will ever get as big as this one in my lifetime.
Back to the blessing. Abby is hilarious- she stopped crying the moment Jas said amen and held her up. Everyone, including me, had to chuckle. It didn’t bother me because 4 minutes of crying in church is nothing compared to 35 minutes of crying in DC traffic alone. Advice to those interested though, hold the pumpkin up-right and not laying down while you bless them. Some, like Nabby, don’t like their being on their backs.

At the Doctor’s office today Abby weighed 14 lbs 4 ounces. She loves to eat like her mom! She’s 25 3/4 inches long.

Making it official

Jason had a lot of competition for a spot at the Ross School of Business. Between 500 and 1000 people applied for the PhD finance program at Michigan this year (more than other years due to the poor job market) and only 3 were accepted. Way to go Jas! He was accepted at Boston College, U of Illinois, and U of North Carolina too. It was a hard choice. I’m so proud of him. Here he is signing his acceptance letter to mail in.

I finally posted some pictures from the past few weeks as well. There are lots of new photos, so browse through the new posts when you have a chance. I meant to post some new videos as well, but our computer died while I was doing it. (I’m using our old backup computer right now.) It looks like our computer might be beyond rescue. (I’m sure hoping not, though, because our photos are on it!) I’ll post video updates when we can get that resolved.
